About venue
Armada House is Bristol City Centre's first and only dedicated conference and events venue. Our Bristol conference centre is a wonderful place to do business or host a function with a wide range of conference, meeting, training and function spaces. Our beautiful grade II Edwardian venue offers all the character and grace you imagine from this age. The scene is set from the moment you enter the building. Our grand panelled lobby is also home to an Elizabethan fireplace and original Edwardian sweeping staircase, whilst our oak panelled Elton Room houses another Jacobean fireplace. With high ceilings and generous rooms you get a feeling of space and character that enhances any event. Conveniently centrally situated, the venue is easily reached by nearby air, road, rail and local public transport links. Armada House, Bristol is also an ideal venue for functions, wedding receptions and parties and is also a great location for film and television productions.

Cabot Room - 200

Our largest room is named after Italian born explorer John Cabot who in May 1497, with the support of the English King Henry VII, sailed west from Bristol on the Matthew in the hope of finding a route to Asia. On 24 June he sighted land and called it New-found-land and claimed it for England. The Cabot Room is a large, airy and versatile space with its own stage and can seat 200 people theatre style. Internet, telephone and power points are situated around the room. The room is air-conditioned and has natural daylight with blackout blinds. Adjacent to the room is a licensed bar area, ideal for private parties and events.

Brunel Room - 80

This light and spacious room is named after engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel who left his mark on Bristol's landscape, designing Clifton Suspension Bridge, Temple Meads Station, the SS Great Britain, Bristol Floating Harbour and the City Council House during the mid 1800's. The Brunel Room is a large flexible space which has the option of the adjoining Chatterton to use as a syndicate, lunch or breakout room. Internet, telephone and power points are situated around the room. The room is air-conditioned and has natural daylight with blackout blinds. This room is also used as a break out and or catering room for large functions in our Cabot Room

Elton Room - 60

This gorgeous room is named after the Elton family, primarily Sir Abraham Elton I, who was a former mayor and MP for Bristol in the 1700's. The Elton family were merchants and benefactors to the city of Bristol and the grand fireplace in this room came from their home. You can read more about its history here The Elton Room is a grand oak panelled room which has the option of the adjoining Boardroom to use as a syndicate, lunch or breakout room. Internet, telephone and power points are situated around the room. The room has light dimmers, natural daylight and blackout blinds.

Wesley Room - 60

Our Wesley Room is named after John Wesley, an Anglican minister and theologian who established his first chapel The New Room in Bristol in 1739. The building, still present in the Broadmead area of Bristol, is listed as a grade I building by Historic England. Our Wesley Room is a spacious, bright room, perfect for classroom or training groups. It easily fits all the necessary equipment such as screen, flipchart and whiteboard with ample room for delegates to move about and work in smaller groups.

This room is named after the Wills family, who made their fortune from tobacco and cigarette manufacture in Bristol. They were great benefactors to the City and the University. One of Bristol's great landmarks; the Wills Memorial Tower, was commissioned and paid for by sons of the first Chancellor of the University, Henry Overton Wills, in his memory. The WIlls room is one of our smaller spaces, but has natural light and a range of AV facilities. Telephone, internet and electric sockets are accessible around the room (Wifi is complimentary)
