The East of England Agricultural Society was formed in 1970 by the merger of the Cambridgeshire & Isle of Ely (1863), Huntingdonshire (1837) and Peterborough (1797) Agricultural Societies, joined in 1971 by Bedfordshire Agricultural Society (1801) and in 1972 by the Northamptonshire Agricultural Society (1848).
